Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous 50th Anniversary Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster with upgrades.
A 50th Anniversary in Sienna Burst-Ash Rosewood-LSR is hard to find, as I found trying to get information on this model.

If you're a collector:
This guitar is NOT the original H/S/S model, and I do NOT have the original parts that were replaced, hang tags, etc.  I acquired it as a trade. It is in BEAUTIFUL condition.  There are reasons I'm selling it, explained in blue....

If you're a player (or a "player") with most excellent taste in quality:
To be honest, I'm rather afraid to play it much at this point, because it has no scratches other than light polish swirl marks, and I don't want to lessen its collectible value. But I DO play it occasionally (carefully).  It plays like a dream, the LSR and locking tuners make going out of tune a thing of the past.  I've taken it down to flubbety dives, let go of the whammy, and it comes back awesomely.  This is with .009's and 3 springs on the trem.

These pickups sound pretty good straight into the amp (Delta Blues 210 30w tube) with a little reverb and nothing else. They are a bit hot for my zoom fx pedal, so I had to turn a lot of the settings down to where the sound just isn't what I want at the volume I have to play them.
I also don't play on stage, so I bet these are awesome for live settings. Unfortunately, I live so close to a university campus you might consider it part of the campus, so I can't really turn up the amp to blistering levels..... (although I am considering looking for a place on the edge of the city so I can play to the open desert out the back door....doo doo doo, lookin' out my back door)

To me, the sound is not a true Fender sound, although I'm sure someone really likes these Rio Grande p/ups just as they are. ( Rio Grande Sound Clips )   They sound awesome, there is no doubt of that, but not quite the true Fender tone I'm looking for. And, I'm not a tremendous fan of the flatter fretboard radii, I like the older 7.25" curve.

So here's the deal.  Rather than spend a couple hundred more bucks on other pickups, and another $500 and maybe find a good 7.25" replacement neck, I'd rather keep this one as is, sell it, and go for the Strat I'm looking for, which actually is a Vintage American '57 series or a '62 series with 7.25" fretboard... (hint, trade, hint)  I am NOT into fake relicing, so please, no offers for one that's been 'professionally' relic'ed.  Naturally, maybe, if it's not beat to death from neglect.  I want a player....and YOU can be the first to scratch this one.

I have a hunch there may be someone out there with a vintage model who wants a 9.5" radius~Rosewood~LSR who may be into a happy trade, no?

The original owner basically converted the H/S/S configuration to a standard S/S/S style and it's freaky awesome !
Seems Fender only offered the combination of sienna/ash body, rosewood fretboard and LSR nut in an H/S/S Fat Strat and not an S/S/S configuration.  (you'll see some 'Deluxe Ash' models, but they have Cherry Burst and Maple fretboards)

* New cream pearloid pickguard, cream control knobs and 5 Way Selector Switch instead of S-1

* The pickups are Rio Grande 'Big Top's, with 'Halfbreeds' in the neck and middle positions, and a 'Muy Grande' in the bridge.
You can listen to some sound clips here: Rio Grande's Sound Clips

* It does NOT come with the original 50th Anniversary poodley-type case, (I never got it).
Instead is a Fender Tweed rectangular case.

* The Serial # indicates the neck is a 2005, and it is the original neck. Reason I say it, the 50th Anniversary model was technically 2004

* There is no back trem cover plate, case candy, or strap.  I will include allen wrenches for saddles and neck. Pop-in trem arm IS included.
